Norcross utilities: Water

The city of Norcross, Georgia is a relatively small community but has the advantage of offering peace, quiet, quality utilities, trustworthy administration and a nice place to live, work and raise kids in. The rather small population of around 11,000 people has heavy needs when it comes to basic utilities and must be met with the same seriousness and diligence as it would in any other city in the US.

The city of Norcross has a system for distributing water that expands upon almost 55 miles of pipelines. These 55 miles account for water distribution toward all the residents in the city and manage to keep up with the needs of all 11,000 inhabitants and even more if it would come to that.

Apart from water distribution, any city must have a collection system for wastewater, that comes from every kitchen and bathroom sink, every bathtub or toilet. For this the city of Norcross, Georgia has another system of pipes that delivers all waste water from the people’s homes and offices to a collecting area. There are 49 miles of sewer pipelines that can be found underneath the city.

The potable water that residents use for everyday needs and activities is bought along with the entire water supply for Gwinnett County of Georgia, under contract. The management of wastewater and its treatment is also discussed in the same agreement with Gwinnett County, meaning that Norcross rises to the standards of all surrounding regions.

Norcross has a total number of about 1,900 water customers, meaning every area of the city, every block, every building and every household or office. There are also 1,825 households that are provided with sever collection. The pipelines around the city are maintained by staff specially employed for the job and the Norcross water quality is very good as recent reports show.
