Restaurants In Norcross
Norcross is a rather small town in Georgia and the home of nearly 10,000 people. It is not a very popular place in America but many would have heard of it as a result of one of the restaurants that has become most popular in the United States and whose headquarters have always been in Norcross. The Waffle House has been started as a business in 1955 in a place very close to Norcross and which has in time determined the popularity of Norcross GA itself. Here one can read more about the Norcross restaurants and in particular about the Waffle House chain restaurants. The Waffle House was opened for the first time on the Labor Day in 1955. The founder of the restaurant was Joe Rogers Sr. Who opened the restaurant with Tom Forkner who continues to be the owners of the majority until today. At the time of the opening, Rogers had had some years of experience as a short-order cook a profession that he embraced in 1947. After a while he became the manager of the restaurant where he started his career as a cook and then he moved to Atlanta. The friendship between Forkner and Rogers had started when Rogers purchased a house from Forkner and had continued throughout the years. The idea to open a restaurant that would combine the speed of the service in a fast food restaurant with table service belonged to Rogers who also envisaged his new business as a 24 hours open restaurant.
The name of the restaurant was suggested by Forkner and it was a decision based on the fact that waffles were the best sold items on the menu. Moreover, they believed that the mere character of the waffles would suggest that the place was an actual restaurant and not a carry-out fast food type of place.
