Education In Norcross
There are many places in Georgia but there is none like Norcross. Norcross is a suburb of Atlanta, with an estimated population of about 10,000 people. Many would say it is a really small town in which one would expect everyone to know everyone. This is however what makes the place so special because, unlike a large city, Norcross GA provides individuals with the opportunity of quickly integrating into the community and feeling like home. Most people argue that big cities make them feel strangers but this rarely happens in Norcross. It is estimated that about 40 percent of the population in Norcross Georgia was born in another country and this is, among other things, what makes this place so special. Moreover, the same percentage of its population is estimated to be Hispanic, meaning that the people coming here influenced the development of the town and the culture of the community. At the same time, an important number of the people there are Caucasian while some of Afro-Americans.
A small city such as Norcross is also important for its education institutions. However, although there is a Norcross high school and several lower schools, there are no higher education institutions. People can send their children to high school or to several professional and specialty vocational schools. Some of these schools include the Atlanta Institute of Music, the Asher School of Business Education as well as the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts. Moreover, Norcross is very close to the metropolitan area of Atlanta which is home to renowned universities in the region. Some of these include the Emory University which is located in the DeKalb County as well as the Georgia Institute of Technology. Nevertheless, the Georgia State University located in downtown Atlanta. Clearly, there are plenty of educational opportunities in the city or nearby it even if Norcross is the home of only 10,000 people.
